Review Samsung Galaxy A5 – Everything Android

Samsung Galaxy A5 is the intermediate model of the new range of mid-range smartphone Korean manufacturer that focuses more on design. After the first attempt to create a smartphone with an aluminum frame, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, here comes a full range of smartphone also with metal edge. Among the three devices (A3, A5 and A7) the A5 appears to be the most balanced and offering a better ratio of performance and price.

Let’s find out more in our review of Samsung Galaxy A5.

Hardware & amp; Ergonomics

Samsung Galaxy A5 appears to be a smartphone balanced from many points of view, starting with the physical dimensions: 139.3 x the device measures 69.7 x 6.7 mm and weighs 123 grams, therefore we speak of size and a light enough.

The story does not change if we are to analyze the materials of Samsung Galaxy A5: we find a back cover is not removable aluminum as well as repainting the edges with a white, very similar to that This Samsung Galaxy Note 4. In effect the two smartphones are very similar: if side by side, measures in part, appear to be very similar and also the arrangement of the doors sometimes matches.

Even the speech usability Samsung Galaxy A5 appears to be balanced: the display panel is in fact a 5-inch HD resolution, a diagonal good and in line with what the market wants; also the quality of this panel is high and there are no problems of vision or touch.

As for the technical characteristics are inside a quad-core 1.2Ghz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory expandable via MicroSD; on the media instead has a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a front camera of 5 megapixels. Supports all networks including 4G LTE, the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and comes with a 2300 mAh battery that allows a good battery life.

From the point of view aesthetic Samsung Galaxy A5 is very good and the only flaw is found in the camera. This, in fact, being projecting is provided with a rim of white painted which, however, tends to come off with normal use bringing the coating to become uneven.

On the level of connectivity we found no problems, while for As for overheating problems we can report a tendency to heat up when running heavy games but without going to extreme heat.

Display, Audio & amp; Multimedia

The display of Samsung Galaxy A5 is a panel 5-inch Super AMOLED HD resolution (1280 × 720). The length of the diagonal turns out to be perfect for a good use with one hand and the quality of the display is definitely level with excellent depth of color (16M) and an equally great angle of view.

Samsung Galaxy A5 is a smartphone that from the perspective of media does not miss anything, except a loudspeaker of higher quality: the smartphone has, in fact, a single speaker located on the rear, close to the camera. The quality is not particularly high, but still acceptable.

Camera

The sub photo Samsung Galaxy A5 consists of a 13-megapixel CMOS sensor on the back and a 5 megapixel sensor on the front. The rear camera is of good quality and excels as the one on the Samsung Galaxy S5, but still takes good pictures in many situations. As you can see from the test photos in the gallery below, even in non-ideal situations you can not get good quality shots with good color rendering and a good dynamic range.

The front camera is a rather good sensor for taking Selfie but, unfortunately, does not have a wide angle (lack widespread enough because fashion is of Selfie recently).

Battery & amp; Autonomy

On the battery we have nothing to complain about. Inside the smartphone is loaded with a 2300 mAh battery which, despite not having a high capacity, allows a sufficiently prolonged use of the smartphone. Samsung Galaxy A5 manages to cover very well the day, offering over 4 hours of actual use (screen on) without stay dry when you arrive in the evening.

The range is, in short, a point strength of this smartphone; maybe Samsung could have included a more capacious battery to go from “good” to “great”, but there are still criticisms that can be made to the device.

Software

The operating system of Samsung Galaxy A5 is Android 4.4.4 KitKat GUI proprietary TouchWiz . Overall the software is to be responsive, smooth and rich in features, so as not to miss the last update Android Lollipop (which still hope it arrive sooner or later).

The differences with the software Samsung Galaxy S5 are really minimal and mainly it comes to functionality that is not because we do not find ourselves on Galaxy A5 a sensor to detect fingerprints and one to detect the heartbeat.

One of the nicest features include the multi-windows , which allows you to open two applications conteamporaneamente, functionality of use with one hand which allows us to reduce the screen to a lesser extent and with the ability to block certain applications or PIN or sequence to interact with the smartphone through hand movements above the front camera.

The park is the usual applications and then we have the set of applications Samsung more than Google in addition to ‘ app store Galaxy Apps, where to find applications recommended by the Korean manufacturer.

Regarding instead the scope gaming , the Samsung Galaxy A5 behaves very well thanks to the Snapdragon processor 410 and 2GB of RAM giving access to gaming experience smooth and exciting.

CONCLUSIONS

Samsung Galaxy A5 is, as I said, a smartphone well balanced. Its features are mid-level and the usability of the device is very good. Her measurements are contained but the performance of a good standard. A smartphone that, on the whole, provides an excellent user experience, but that, unfortunately, suffers from the price at launch: 409 €.

Fortunately, you can find it already on the site of The merchants, who kindly we have offered this sample under test, at a lower price: 355 euro in version dual-SIM or 329 € in a single SIM version.
