Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6 Plus: online comparative photographic – Hardware upgrade.it

Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 Plus use a significantly different approach to the back camera: the first has a sensor with 16 megapixels, while the second, much more conservative, stops only 8 million pixels for single click. A feature that allows the device to Samsung to give a greater number of details, at least on paper, and which has proven successful in the photographic evidence appeared on Mobile Syrup.

The Canadian blog has to whip the two smartphones comparing shots obtained under different lighting conditions. It is clear that the sunlight Galaxy S6 has a substantial advantage than the direct competitor of Apple, while lighting conditions are less favorable to have a decent margin is iPhone 6 Plus, a strong color balance several cases more neutral.

Samsung uses clear sharpening in post on shots taken with Galaxy S6 Edge, however, according to Mobile Syrup the effect is a lot less noticeable than other devices of the company’s past. In some photos you can still see some light halos around the edges of objects or text, the result of an effect element set without much shyness. It makes sense, however on a smartphone, considering that hardly postproduction in these cases goes beyond the crop or the addition of a color filter.

The blog breaks down the final verdict in four categories: outdoor, whose winner is clearly Galaxy S6 by rapid auto-focus and extra resolution offered by the integrated sensor. iPhone 6 Plus offers click the “more natural and more neutral”, but it is clear that the only 8 megapixel represent a major disadvantage for the Melafonino. In enclosed spaces, the two devices have a draw: Galaxy S6 is more defined and presents a noise content, but at the same time the colors are often unbalanced.

Galaxy S6 also won in the category macro , in which the lens f / 1.9 allows you to have a very limited depth of field, particularly impressive in the close-up shots. iPhone 6 Plus has the best shots only in the dark, where the optical stabilization more finished (which allows exposure times longer than the Korean counterpart) and the amplitude of the individual pixels greater, play in favor of the iPhone.

The full comparative can be found at this address, accompanied by all the high-resolution photos from the two smartphones in the test. Of course we will not fail to perform our tests in the laboratory once we have a sample of the new Galaxy S6 and check from a point of view more scientific prowess of the new module photo chosen by Samsung.
