During the last month, thanks to teardown conducted by IHS , we learned the exact cost that Samsung uses for the production of a Galaxy S6 Edge, $ 256, a figure much higher than the previous top range Galaxy, based on the fact that the technological process requires more and more investments and new production processes for some components that can change from year to year.
Going into more detail, has recently published the price list of the internal components of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge compared to repair costs requested by the producer to the consumer in case the terminal was taken to a service center, which cost almost double and often triple it clicks repair out of warranty.
As expected, the display is once again the most expensive piece of the list, Samsung spends between 100 and 147 €, depending on the model (the first S6 and S6 according to the Edge ) asking the end user practically twice when replacing a fee.
The camera sensors range between 35.57 and approximately € 14, respectively, and the main front, but better not to talk about repairs because the cost doubles again . Batteries and connectors to cost Samsung a few tens of euro, and even then you go up considerably through the service center, tripling in some cases.
Attention therefore handle with care the new top of the range Samsung, as the replacement of a damaged display accidentally and then not covered by the warranty could cost you more than 200 €.
