Samsung has sold 10 million Galaxy S6 in a month . This would seem to be good news for the Korean manufacturer, but in fact it is fewer than expected, especially considering what was stated by the leaders in previous months. At this point appears unlikely to respect the sales forecasts by year-end, given that competitors will certainly not watching.
A few days after the announcement of the two Galaxy S6, the head of mobile division announced that it had received more than 20 million pre-orders . In April, Samsung had set the sales target by December: 70 million units . According to data collected by the company, but not publicly disclosed, would be sold 10 million smartphones in 30 days. By comparison, the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 have reached the same level in 27 and 25 days, respectively.
If the trends remain unchanged, the goal will be reached only if predetermined Samsung will sell about 8.6 million units per month for the next seven months, more than that HTC and Sony manage to sell in a year. Requests for the Galaxy S6 edge are higher than expected (the manufacturer has opened a new factory to meet demand), while the Galaxy S6 would not find place in the wishlist of users (perhaps because of its “defects”).
Most likely the goal of 70 million units is reached . The Galaxy Note 5 could cannibalize sales of the Galaxy S6. There are already many users waiting for the new phablet that will be announced at IFA in Berlin. In addition, Samsung will have to cope with the arrival of the iPhone 6S, not to mention the numerous high-end devices from China. If financial results confirm the hypothesized, the Korean company will be forced to review the design of its flagship product, possibly incorporating a removable battery and microSD slot in the Galaxy S7 .
