In the eternal battle for those who have it .. most powerful , is very difficult to establish a clear winner. The “synthetic” benchmarks do not always reflect the actual use, and actual use is subject to so many variations that it is almost impossible to set a scenario replicable. And then, often different aspects decreed different winners. Colleagues of GameBench , however, were able to provide some comparative figure appreciable natualmente regard to video games, including four smartphones that represent very well the current market for high-end: Apple iPhone 6 Google Nexus 6, HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
By measuring the FPS on a set of ten titles , rather heavy and challenging for the GPU (including GTA San Andreas, Asphalt 8, Dead Trigger 2, Real Racing 3 and Monument Valley), findings were perhaps easier to predict, but that lead to interesting considerations. iPhone 6 proved the sample is as average FPS, both as an absolute minimum, and as a long-term stability of the frame rate . Afterwards we, always in the same order, Galaxy S6, M9 and HTC Nexus 6. iPhone in particular recorded an average of 42 FPS, S6 stops 36; follow M9 and N6 with, about 34 FPS.
Interestingly iPhone falls rarely below 30 FPS , the minimum threshold for excellence. The flagship of Samsung in this aspect behaves worse, and this is perhaps the most significant of the lower average frame rate than the rival, but still better than the other two Android.
Among the factors that play in favor Apple, we include the ‘ huge difference in resolution , especially with 6 Nexus / Galaxy S6; each little more than 720p and others exactly four times as much, although it is true that most of the games goes into a native resolution. In any case, it would be interesting to test on an iPhone 6 Plus, which has many more pixels to move. And then there are limitations that Android developers to apply to their titles, to keep as much as possible compatible with the lower-end device .
Here we present the individual game performance to play; notice how varied the superiority of the iPhone based on the title.
