The new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones are the fastest in the world . This is the verdict resulted from data AnTuTu, known benchmark that measures the performance of mobile devices. The statistics collected during the first quarter of 2015 in 160 countries confirm the power of the processor Exynos 7420 integrated in products of the Korean company. The direct competitor HTC One M9 is the third of the top 10, but the gap to the two leaders is very clear.
The Galaxy S6 occupies the first position with 67 520 points , followed by Galaxy S6 edge with 62 373 points. It is not clear why the numerical difference between the two smartphones, but probably it depends on the method of calculation used by AnTuTu, which takes account of the average value. In any case, the SoC Samsung clearly wins the challenge with the Snapdragon 810 integrated in the One M9 HTC (52 709 points). In addition to being faster, the chip Exynos 7420 is also more efficient from the point of view of consumption, thanks to the architecture FinFET + to 14 nanometers. Because of the known problems of overheating, for the Snapdragon 810 is activated more often thermal throttling with negative consequences on performance.
In fourth place went to the Samsung Galaxy S5 ( European version with Snapdragon 805) with 49 355, followed by Meizu MX4 (49 305) with MediTek MT6595 processor. Scores of Nexus 6 (49 145) and the Galaxy Note 4 (49 140) are virtually identical, as they have similar characteristics (Snapdragon 805, display 2K and 3 GB of RAM).
The top 10 on the GPU confirmed the victory of the rival Samsung. The Exynos chip with Mali-T760 GPU MP8 to 772 MHz has obtained a score of 20,725 against 18,936 of the Snapdragon Adreno 810 with 430 to 650 MHz. In early March, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 820 first SoC series produced in 14 nanometers which, perhaps, will allow the manufacturer to return to top of the list.
