As happens every year, after the presentation of a new smartphone flagship, here comes timely analysis of DisplayMate , this time dedicated to the new Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 + Edge. As for the quality of the screen, both devices use the same unit, so the analysis was carried out mainly on Galaxy Note 5, which has managed to establish new records in terms of loyalty Color, brightness and maximum energy efficiency, coming to be defined as better than most displays on smartphones, tablets and TV on the market.
If in fact already with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was able to reach levels of excellence never before seen on OLED screens, it is with notes 5 that is closest to the boundary line that within a few generations will make OLED displays higher than LCD also in the field of energy consumption. With the same brightness, notes 5 can be between 18 and 23% more efficient than its predecessor and can reach a peak of maximum brightness of 861 cd / m ^ 2 . The previous record was of Galaxy S6, which stops at “only” 784 cd / m ^ 2.
Galaxy Note 5 is, thus an ideal terminal for use even under direct sunlight, not only thanks to the impressive level brightness, but also thanks to the excellent reflectance value of only 4.7% . Note 5 appears to be one of the display with the most accurate color currently available, obtaining a value of 99% in the scale AdobeRGB (in Photo mode Amoled) and 101% in the scale sRGB / Rec.709 (Basic mode), scores that make it virtually indistinguishable from the values of perfection and that allow you to appreciate the true color of each photo, image or video display.
The two top of the range Samsung demonstrate how the South Korean company is able to offer innovations in technology AMOLED also a few months later than the excellent results obtained previously by Galaxy S6.
