Test comparing resistance between two top of the range Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Htc 10 which of them will report less damage?
more and more beautiful and refined, thinner and lighter, larger and larger display and resolute, the tendency of the new top of the range smartphone is this: so much beauty, but can also hide a great vulnerability?
that ‘s what we will see in the next test to drop resistance to the Galaxy S7 (the top smartphones of Samsung range) and newcomer on the market, the ‘ Htc 10 .
the drop resistance test was carried out using a professional machine that allows to bring down both devices by a same height and in a given position (on the side, on the rear shell, the front shell), in order to make the result the as objective as possible without interference or human error.
the results in the video are pretty obvious: if you do fall sideways (the bottom of the phone) and the Galaxy S7 that ‘ htc 10 pretty well withstand a collision and you will notice at most a few small scratch here and there: nothing to worry about; if it falls on the side of the thickness of the shell damage is seen on both phones (most of S7).
The situation radically changes when the phones fall or front body or on that back ; changes because the Galaxy S7 has much less resistance than the HTC device.
The problem of the Galaxy S7 is its glass finishing (Gorilla Glass 4) both front and back which tends to spoil much faster than classic metal shell Hct 10: the effects are very different.
the Galaxy S7 already after an initial fall has already ruined the glass finishing especially on rear bodywork, while Htc 10 still seems to be out of factory with minimal damage.
with the front fall on the display, both devices are feeling the pinch: Htc 10 fact has obvious scratches to the front panel, although the latter continues to work without too many problems, while the Galaxy S7 also seems to have serious problems in the operation of the display.
Htc 10 can be repeated about 30 times the drop test on the front panel before the touch-screen is completely stop working: a good result.
in conclusion Galaxy S7 turns out to be much less durable than the HTC 10, which in this field shows one of the better top-end smartphone built on the market.
