On August 2 Samsung has lifted the veil from Galaxy Note7, the spearhead of their line-up for 2016. The price of 879 € in the Italian market , is high, however, the hardware equipment and attention to the software features related to the S-Pen tend to justify a price slightly higher than competitive devices to high-end. But in addition to the amazing technical specifications Galaxy Note7 is the first smartphone to adopt Gorilla Glass 5 . As you translate in everyday use this feature? According to Corning, the maker of the particular type of glass, Gorilla Glass 5 is the most resistant glass from those available on the market. It can for example withstand drops of a maximum of 1.6 meters in 80% of cases even on hard surfaces, whereas the previous version had the same success rate at a height of 1 meter. All this according to the company without affecting weight and the panel transparency. A feature of this type is without doubt very important on a smartphone as Samsung Galaxy Note7 , both for its size (a larger device tends to slide more easily) than for its special design . The phablet has a symmetrical form factor with two glass slabs arranged “sandwich” within a metal structure. During the falls it is therefore very likely that irremediably fall precisely on one of the two glass panels. Having in these cases the support of a more resistant material is certainly an additional guarantee, although it can obviously not give the certainty “survive” even the most severe drops. At the moment we can only rely on the press of the two companies, but we can only wait for the first “drop test” to verify the quality of the new material. Those interested in knowing more about the new Galaxy Note7 can do it on our preview article of that found at this address.
