The spread of the connector USB Type-C began a few months ago and at the time there are very few products that can boast this type of input / output, soon we will see an usage really large on smartphones and tablets. The benefits are clear, and if the practical point of view the inclusion in any side facilitates the connection, the type-C allows for a much greater data transfer speed, the greater the current flow on the single USB that can upload Notebook (what impossible with the Micro-USB), support audio, video, OTG, and more on a single connector.
All the major manufacturers have already shown strong interest in the Type-C and 2016 will be the year the consecration of all the top range and 2017 should be the year in which the type-C is really a standard even with the use of low-end smartphones, consumer products, economic and tablet / notebooks of various types.
Samsung will soon be using it and Galaxy S7 will be the first top range of the Korean manufacturer to use this port. It is not impossible that they arrive before other Galaxy with Type-C S7 but will still be the first of the new generation with the hope that all products Samsung 2016 can integrate the same connector, at least from the mid-range up.
