How to Install Android 6.0 on Samsung Galaxy Nexus Marshmallow – International Business Times Italy

The smartphone flagship Google of 2011 Galaxy Nexus is now old to have official support. The developer community XDA Ziyan has distributed the build AOSP (Android Open Source Project) for this device. The custom build can try the latest version of Android, the 6.0 Marshmallow.

How to Install Android 6.0 on Galaxy Nexus Marshmallow:

1) Connect your Galaxy Nexus to your PC using a USB cable. Transfer the downloaded files to the internal memory of the phone and remember where;

2) Disconnect the phone from the PC and switch it off;

3) Start the phone in recovery mode. Use the Quick Boot app, available on the Play Store, to enter this mode. Otherwise, follow these steps to manually set the phone in Recovery mode:

– Press and hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power until the phone turns on. You should see the writing Start with an arrow around the screen;

– Press Volume Down twice to highlight Recovery;

– Power Press to start the Recovery mode.

4) In Recovery mode, make a backup of the current Nandroid phone configuration, you should be able to restore when you want in case something goes wrong in the installation of the new ROM. Recovery from Backup touch, then run a Swype down to confirm the process;

5) Restoring the factory data is essential for the installation. To do this, select Wipe – & gt; Advanced Wipe – & gt; Dalvick Cache – & gt; System – & gt; Data and Cache and then you run a bar Swype “Swype to wipe”;

6) Return to Recovery, select Install and then Storage. Navigate to the folder where you saved the AOSP ROM, select it and then performed a Swype on “Swype to confirm”;

7) When the flash is over, repeat the procedure in step 6 to install apps from Google ;

8) When the installation is complete, select Reboot System to restart the phone.
