of the attractions will be a hi-tech in 2014. The Samsung Galaxy S5 , the smartphone that will have the delicate task of replacing the Galaxy S4 in the high end of the portfolio of the Korean company, is already the subject of many rumors. And the most common concern – coincidentally – the future lockscreen .

Samsung, as Apple seems to want to rely on a system of biometric recognition , but apparently will not be a fingerprint reader. The rumors circulating in the corridors of Seoul in fact speak of a real iris scanners : a technology that – if it were to be confirmed – will allow the future owners of the Galaxy S5 to lock and unlock the screen by simply a look.

TECHNOLOGY IS
indiscretion apparently founded: Samsung reveals the portal ZDNet Korea , has acquired a patent that allows you to check the singularity (color, texture, pattern) the iris. The Korean also is not new to certain initiatives in the field of visual interaction: already the Samsung Galaxy S4, as is known, integrates the whole range of technologies ( Smart Scroll, Smart Stay ) developed to control the phone with the eyes.

The most critical part of any large-scale implementation of a technology of this type concerns the processing of . The scanners to iris recognition, already present in some international airports, require high computational power. For this reason, the Samsung Galaxy S5 could incorporate within it a much more powerful processor (this is called an Exynos chipset six-core or eight-core architecture with 64-bit and 3 GB of RAM).

TO A DISPLAY 2K?
If the biometric features representing the main course menu prepared by Samsung, there is also a lot of curiosity around the display . To improve the already excellent qualities of its predecessor, the new Galaxy S5 could complement one screen with qHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) spread over an area ranging between 5 and 5.25 inches.

Difficult, however, that the Korean company decides to opt for a solution curved like the one seen on the Galaxy Round: The classic flat-screen still seems to be more acceptable (as well as more sustainable in terms of cost) from the market.

MORE THAT ANDROID Tizen
Also on the side software Do not expect special upheavals. Although we continue to talk about the desire to free themselves from dependence on Samsung for Google, the operating system of the house (Tizen OS) does not currently offer the guarantee of reliability that is required of a smartphone at this level. More than likely, therefore, that the operating system of the next Galaxy S5 is once again Android (Kit Kat in this case), possibly enhanced by a revised version of the TouchWiz interface.

WE WILL SEE IN THE SPRING, EVEN BEFORE
Still uncertain the date of announcement of the phone. The Galaxy S4 – as you may recall – was introduced last April. For his heir, though, Samsung could also hasten the time: there are many who bet on an advance announcement of the Galaxy S5 already at the upcoming Mobile World Congress , held in Barcelona 24-27 February.
