Samsung Galaxy S5 curved display? Maybe not - Everything Android

Through some rumors, during the past few weeks, it was learned that probably the S5 Galaxy would have a curved display style Galaxy Round or something like that. New reports coming directly from Korea to some industry analysts, however, would be ready to deny everything.

In fact it is not difficult to imagine that this new display technology can not count on a production of a large number of units in a short time. The curved display / flexible, in fact, are still difficult to implement and have a high cost in comparison to all other types of displays, precisely because they are made with modern technologies.

It is therefore not easy to produce, for example, the same number of display units curved / flexible at the same time the production of simple AMOLED, given that come into play production processes more elaborate and with longer timescales. For this reason, the S5 Galaxy would almost certainly not have a display of this type, as Samsung is expected to beat the sales of the Galaxy S4 (more than 10 million units sold to date). By installing a display of curved type on S5 Galaxy , then, would dramatically decrease the number of stocks of the smartphone and, consequently, sales. Consider that, at present, Samsung is able to produce only 8,000 display curved 5.5-inch per month.

For this reason, Samsung sells the Galaxy Round (only in Korea for now) in a few units, which currently amount to about 50,000. Analysts, however, do not exclude that Samsung will launch a version of “curve” of the S5 Galaxy after the official launch of the smartphone in the classic version, but this will be the only time in confirm or deny.
