Samsung : here we go again. After the bad figure made for the update to Android 4.3 for the Galaxy S3, the Korean company is once again forced to defend their image. This episode refers to video posted on YouTube by a user in which are shown on a Galaxy S4 damage as a result of overheating and subsequent fire of the device . The Galaxy S4 indicted in fact caught fire in the night while it was attached to a wall outlet during the joint operation of recharges.

The user has taken steps to inform the customer service Samsung which offered him a smartphone replacement, provided, however, that the video posted on YouTube was removed. Of course, the user name of Richard Wygand , it refused and published online Samsung’s answer:

“As a condition for obtaining the replacement of the device with a similar model, ********** agrees to remove his video on Youtube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com / watch? v = dc4duKuPrQ0 and any other connection or statement on the issue and refrain from making further statements or other videos. “

This is not the first time that Samsung was forced to deal with questions relating to problems of overheating and subsequent fire of the Galaxy S4. The resignation letter sent to the user only appears as a mere attempt to keep the story out of the spotlight.

The move of the Korean company, however, has had the effect radically opposed. The two videos of the Galaxy S4 posted on YouTube showed nearly half a million views. declaration of withdrawal would be sent by Samsung after Wygand has contacted the company in relation to the problem of the fire of the Galaxy S4. Colleagues have contacted Samsung in order to get a comment on the episode in question but did not get any answer.

Into the first video posted on YouTube (see below), Wygand said he connected his phone to charge it before you go to bed with the cable and the split provided by Samsung and being awakened a few hours later by the strong smell of smoke and burnt. In the video you can see that the microUSB port of the Galaxy S4 is charred and damaged. Wygand also removed the back cover of the phone to show the damage inside the device. Not surprisingly, the phone following the episode has remained unusable.

remember that this is not the only incident on a Galaxy S4 incediato. In June, an owner of a Galaxy S4 resident Abu Dhabi has reported an almost identical problem. The user claimed to have found the phone in flames during charging operations, these are his words: “Thank God I woke up in the middle of the night and tamed the ‘ fire before it could cause damage to my home and my family. “

Another incident happened in July in Hong Kong, where the explosion of a Galaxy S4 caused the fire to a house. Even his predecessor, the Galaxy S3, it has been reported for some spontaneous outbursts, in particular, had been involved in an episode of a teenage girl who had suffered burns to his leg. After further investigation the incident has been attributed to the use of a third-party charger defective.
