Samsung announced the new Galaxy Tab S2 8 and 9.7 inches . The two tablets are smaller than the Galaxy Tab S, but integrate a better processor, perhaps the only weak point of the previous models. The Galaxy Tab S2 are the Android tablet thinnest in the world (only 5.6 mm, less than the iPad Air 2) and among the lightest ever. Since August you can buy variants WiFi and WiFi + LTE.
Galaxy Tab S2 are high-end devices, as seen from the sophisticated design and the use of premium materials, similar to the Galaxy Note 4. Unlike the Apple tablet, the new Samsung models do not, however, have a frame uniboby metal, but aluminum was chosen only for the sides, while the back is plastic. Compared to the Galaxy Tab S we were reduced both the diagonal screen resolution, now with aspect ratio 4: 3. The Galaxy Tab S2 have display Super AMOLED 8 and 9.7 inches with a resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels .
The hardware is the same for both: octa core processor Exynos 5433 (four core Cortex-A57 1.9 GHz and four Cortex-A53 1.3 GHz), 3 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of flash memory, expandable with microSD cards up to 128 GB. The cameras have a resolution of 8 megapixels and 2.1, as in patterns of 2014. Connectivity is provided by WiFi 802.11ac dual band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and micro USB. There are also various sensors: accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, RGB, Hall and Fingerprint Reader .
The battery capacity is 4000 mAh for the 8-inch model and 5870 mAh for the 9.7-inch. The operating system is Android 5.0 Lollipop, customized with TouchWiz interface. Users will also find the app Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote) and will have 100 GB of storage free for two years on OneDrive. Prices for versions WiFi and LTE 32 GB are: 399 and 469 euro for the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, 499 and 569 euro for the Galaxy Tab 9.7 S2.
