No, you did not misread. Today we review, again, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which is back with a minimum hardware upgrade and a strong drop in price. Oh, and also updates its name: Galaxy S4 Mini Plus

Inside the box we find a pair of in-ear headphones (good for its money) with various adapters for the ears, a 1A power supply and a USB-microUSB.
Construction and Ergonomics
S4 Mini Plus is very compact, compact as now very few smartphone Nowadays they do, of course, giving up a display of generous dimensions, but limiting the weight significantly (only 107 grams). A phone that, nowadays, it really can be considered mini . The build quality is good, although not changed in any way by phone almost two years ago. All physical buttons provide good feedback to the pressure.
Hardware
The only real significant innovations compared with the previous model, is the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core 1.2 GHz, definitely more updated the now dated the previous dual core. We then 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD. LTE connectivity is up to 150 Mbps and Wi-Fi a / b / g / n (and supports the 5 GHz frequency). Do not miss the Bluetooth 4.0 and even the NFC. The speaker is on the back and has a good volume, but the risk is high enough to cover it.

Camera
The main camera is 8 megapixel and has a LED flash support for night pictures. The front camera is 2 megapixel. The quality of the shots is good, especially with good light and can be discreetly up with other products in the same price range. Fast enough and flexible camera software, which also offers a sufficient amount of functionality. The videos are shot in 1080p.

Display
The screen 4.3-inch really Mini when compared to other products in the same band. It has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and is made of technology SuperAMOLED (with RGB matrix, for those interested). The screen is extremely bright and brilliant, with very vivid colors, although not particularly faithful. You can still adjust the settings.
Software
Android is unfortunately left to version 4.4.4 KitKat . In terms of features, on a model of this range, it is difficult to see a difference, but we hope that does not give too many problems in the future compatibility of the app. The system is incredibly liquid , despite the specific average, and the interface is simple and intuitive to use. Not many additional features offered by Samsung, but among these we find the lock mode and the private mode. Not much to say about the software, except that the extreme familiarity that Samsung might have a user interface with the company’s proprietary definitely will “feel at home” many people, who may choose it for that reason.
Software: Browser
The web browser of Samsung has also upgraded to the latest version of Samsung software and offers good performance, even with the heaviest websites.
Software: Multimedia
Good and simple to use the media player, so how good is the video player that plays movies smoothly until the resolution of Full HD.
Autonomy
The 1900 mAh battery is able to do its job well and will take you to end the day with a little more ‘of autonomy in the event of an average use (typical for these smartphones).
Price
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus is sold in Italy to 199 €, a price less than half the price of the original model. A consistent price policy Samsung, although not so aggressive.
