Microsoft plans to unveil by the end of this year its two new flagship Windows Mobile 10, but now the Redmond company offers various products including the newer Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL . In particular, this device is considered a real phablet with features that make it a mid-range. After seeing him compared to the Lumia 830 , today we will see the hardware differences and common features with the Galaxy Note 4 Samsung .
Display and processor
The two devices can be classified as phablet thanks to their well-5.7-inch display that provides a view of the contents really exceptional. Another common feature is the protection slightly Corning Gorilla Glass used by both companies, although Samsung has chosen the fourth generation while Microsoft third. The Galaxy Note 4 offers display Super AMOLED and qHD 515 PPI while the Lumia 640 XL features a display ClearBlack HD with 259 PPI a simple IPS panel LCD. Once at the chip, we have under the hood two quad-core Qualcomm. They belong, however, to two different segments of the market since the fourth generation of the Galaxy Note is supported by high-end Snapdragon 805 SoC 2.7 GHz while the Lumia 640 is supported by the mid-range 400 Snapdragon 1.2 GHz. Both chipsets are, also, flanked by their GPU Adreno 420 and 305.
RAM, internal storage and cameras
Another common characteristic is found in the maximum support expansion up to 128 GB through Micro SD. The two memories are very different from each other because the Lumia 640 XL offers 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, while the Galaxy Note 4 has 3 GB and 32 GB respectively. Arriving at the photography department, some of the common features that we find are autofocus, LED flash and the ability to record video in Full HD (30 fps on 640 pixels and 60 fps on Note 4). The latter offers a 16 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilizer and movie shooting in 4K and a secondary 3.7 while the smartphone is Microsoft equipped of a 13-megapixel back with Carl Zeiss optics and a selfie room 5.
Weight, thickness, OS and battery
The Galaxy Note 4 shows a slightly more compact body and slim, but heavier than the other phablet. In fact, we have a thickness of 8.5 mm and a weight of 176 g on the device and the South Korean company respectively 9 mm and 171 g on the Lumia 640 XL. The OS used is naturally different because we Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim on the XL 640 and Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4, with a upgrade to version 5.1.1 will be coming very soon. Finally, we have within two batteries which differ by 220 mAh: 3000 mAh and 3220 mAh on the Lumia Galaxy.
