After several months of rumors and speculation we finally were able to confirm the existence of Alpha Galaxy, the new South Korean company Samsung smartphone with metal structure that marks a new stage in the design of the Galaxy range. This new model features quite similar to the Galaxy S5, considered the flagship of the characteristics of the brand, but there are important differences between them.
The first very important difference has to do with the screen. Although both panels are Super AMOLED, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch screen with HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and the new model has a 4.7-inch panel with full HD resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels). Samsung has decided to maintain a configuration of the mid-range smartphone with its new metal structure, primarily focusing on design and functionality, that is why it is a bit ‘more compact. But they could also have maintained a HD resolution, but the screen is smaller. This focuses the Galaxy Alpha 312 dots per inch, while the high Galaxy S5 432 dpi.
As we mentioned, the section of the project is the most important of the new Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The device has a metal body which can be seen from the frame around the entire device. This material provides more strength to the entire device, but it looks much better than in the Galaxy S5, which has a chrome finish but is plastic. The Alpha Galaxy is also more compact and thin, with a thickness of only 6.7 mm and weighs 115 grams. Both models have the back plastic case with a rubbery texture to the more comfortable grip, but the Galaxy S5 has the advantage of being removable and non-Alpha Galaxy. As a final detail to highlight the Galaxy S5 is resistant to ‘
water for up to half an hour and one meter deep.
Camera and Multimedia
Samsung reserves the technology ISOCELL for the camera, which features 16-megapixel resolution. The Galaxy Alpha carries a 12 megapixel sensor and shares many of the features, but for example does not have the ultra-fast approach, a feature that can be found in the Galaxy S5. But they have very similar characteristics as selective focus, American Virtual Tour or HDR mode. They can both also record 4K video at 30 frames per second, but the Samsung Galaxy S5 also allows lower OHD FullHD quality and to increase the frequency and can record in slow motion. As regards the front camera, the Galaxy S5 is 2 megapixels, while the Galaxy Alpha is 2.1 megapixels.
As regards the media profile, both are equal because they are compatible with a long list of formats and codecs of audio or video files. None of them have radio tuner, but it allows you to listen to radio stations on the Internet, provided that there is a connection, of course. Otherwise, come with standard features such as dictation and voice recording, media player and the exclusive function Group Play.
power, memory, and the system Operating
The processor is one of the sections in which there are differences between the two devices. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a Snapdragon chip 801, the quad-core Krait architecture with 400 runs at 2.5 GHz frequency. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha launches new Exynos 5430, eight-core self that has had most success in the first performance test conducted. These are two quad-core chip, a 1.8 Ghz Cortex A7 together with a 1.3 Ghz Cortex A15, which alternate to provide optimum power without spending a lot of energy. Both have 2 GB of RAM to provide high performance device.
