Round Galaxy, the Galaxy curved - Computer Point

Rome – I spent a few hours from LG ads on putting into production of a curved OLED display and Samsung immediately makes his move: Galaxy Round is a 5.7-inch smartphone that will be sold exclusively in South Korea, the first of its kind with a curved display. But, contrary to what one might have expected, the curvature of the screen is on the short side: the manufacturer of Seoul decided to exploit the effect of swinging to include new gesture to control the activity of the phone as a music playback or scroll of photos and movies. The difference is obviously in the curved screen (1080p), that allows the phone to swing on the desk when you are resting. As shown in a video shot from Samsung itself, tilting the device could appear on-screen information on date and time, missed calls or messages, or run this on the next track in the playlist playback or display the next photo in the ‘archive. The trade name of the function is “Roll Effect”.

Behind the screen the usual suspects: quad-core processor (Krait) 2.3 GHz, 3GB RAM, 13-megapixel camera, battery 2.800mAh. Android 4.3 and LTE connection, as confirmed by the inscription engraved on the back. The distribution and sale for now will be limited to the domestic market: it is only a first step, which will serve to Samsung to gain experience and develop the technology for then use it on a large scale in the future .
