Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 7 instead of the Galaxy Note 6. According to the known leaker Evan Blass, the Korean manufacturer has decided to “align” the name of the phablet to that of the Galaxy S7, as confirms the discovered device logo within the promotional material. The new smartphone will also be the first Samsung model with scanners iris . The Unpacked event presentation is scheduled for August 2.
Why Galaxy Note Galaxy Note 7 and not 6? While waiting for the official response you can make some assumptions. Samsung would have discarded the number 6 to avoid giving the impression that the phablet has lower specs to those of the Galaxy S7. The uninformed users may believe, being less than 6 7, the Galaxy Note 6 is older than the Galaxy S7. Such reasoning would be valid against the next iPhone 7. Update : another source says that the Galaxy Note 7 will integrate processors Snapdragon 821 and Exynos 8893, 64/128/256 GB of storage and a 4,000 mAh battery. The operating system will be Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the new Grace UX interface.
