This morning Galaxy Tenants Committee, composed of the families coming from eviction by the Ex Telecom, from the families of the Tenants Committee resistant and families who have decided to join the fight since entering into the transitional housing facility have occupied the entrance and courtyard of Palazzo D’Accursio claiming some of struggle demands emerging from the condition who live in the large open transition structure since the eviction of the Ex Telecom last October.
the first claim it is linked to the redefinition of the fee which currently is disconnected from the income of the individual nuclei amounting to 200 Euros. An unsustainable rate and that must be drastically reduced since real income received by residents Galaxy. The second claim has broached the subject of today still denied residence in some of the families living in the Galaxy and in the past had lost their residence because of article 5. Immediate residence for those staying at the Galaxy so! The third claim concerns the amount of points for Erp ranking for those living in the Galaxy and in general urban structures of housing transition. There seems a real paradox that today live in a transitional housing project face to get household one point. Just think that a family under threat of eviction, before the execution, holds up to 6 points and more. We demand therefore that all who are in a project that is set up and is in fact called the “transitional housing” will get 10 ranking points, to conclude as soon as possible the brackets of the transition and enter into a council house.
During a brief meeting with the councilor for welfare the second point has been recognized as satisfying immediate, while for the other two instances, recognized as legitimate, there has been proposed a new table to be set up by March 4, which will be compared proposals and counter-proposals, and we hope, and we will fight for this, which is the fee we propose that the Erp score for transition houses are eventually revised as indicated by the Committee.
so today opened the new promoted fight against the tenants residing in transitional structures, and from the Galaxy Punta Committee have to involve so many other families living the same hardships and want to fight for the right to housing together with strong tenants, occupants and solidarity .
