At a distance of several months from the official launch of the latest version of Android , Samsung has not yet done so to update their device Galaxy s5 , former top producer of range South Korean. Since even its successor, the Samsung Galaxy s6, has so far received the update, it seems very likely that it will still take some time before you can use the latest on s5. Fortunately it comes to help the community of independent developers to CyanogenMod , which has just released the first adaptation of the operating system for the device under test. It should be noted that installing a custom ROM is completely legal process, but some producers consider it as an act liable to render ineffective the phone’s warranty, since any malfunctions are not attributable to the software provided by the company. For this reason many users are waiting for the expiration of the warranty before installing these OS .
CyanogenMod is a custom rom that has cropped up in recent years, a large space between the operating systems and free open source based on Android. After installation, the original operating system developed by the phone manufacturer is replaced by CyanogenMod, which often allows the cell to provide superior performance. In addition, the community is always working on new update, that allows the Rom to be up to date and, oftentimes, even outrun the official developers. And in fact, it is now recorded the output of the CyanogenMod version for s5 before the official Samsung .
The release available are, however, still nightly and therefore unsuitable for everyday use. Those activities are typically unstable and not free of bugs, thus necessitating further work by the developers. The first stable version, Snapshot and Stable , are usually released after one month before the release of the first ROM. The same should therefore be available as of March 2016. Users are therefore free to choose whether to wait for the official update by Samsung or opt for the transition to the world of custom rom . It remains to say that usually CyanogenMod is used on phones no longer supported by the manufacturer and therefore probably the majority of users prefer to wait for the official release.
