The new top of the range smartphone comes in April:
has a sensor for fingerprints and measure the heartbeat
As expected, Samsung has launched the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress that opened today in Barcelona. The successor of the S4 comes after 200 million copies sold (counting the whole family that includes several models).
‘barely larger than the previous model, and not so much for the screen, which increased from 5 to 5.1 inches (always in Full HD), but because it is built to resist water and dust. Structure in metal and plastic, removable battery, super-powered processor (2.5GHz Snapdragon 801), has a fingerprint sensor, such as the Apple iPhone, but here is also used to make purchases on the web with Paypal and access to a folder to hide secret documents and photos reserved. A sensor measures the heartbeat, and there is also an emergency system that reduces battery consumption to a minimum, for long life in extreme cases. Interestingly the 16 megapixel camera: it has a very limited time autofocus and allows you to change the focus of the image after the shot. No more blurry photos, in fact.
Also usefulthe Kids mode: a couple of touches and the phone is ready to face the curious hands of children, who can play, but do not go on the internet or send email. Some of these features are included in the Android operating system (version 4.4 finally here), but as always Samsung has introduced several original touches: this time, however, the TouchWiz interface is less invasive than usual. The battery is removable as usual for the Korean company’s products, there is also a technology that simultaneously use the built in wifi and the 4G network for fast downloads.
Galaxy S5 arrives in April, at a price similar to that of the current model. A revolution? No, certainly. But with this Samsung model seems to finally move to a clever use of technology, useful for everyday life, not just to show off features and specifications.
